April Ross
April Ross has won more than one Olympic medal. She is one of only a handful of female beach volleyball players that have achieved this feat. The American will play in Tokyo for her 3rd Olympic medal along with Alix Klineman who is a first time Olympian. Ross's goal is to win her first Olympic Gold. This may be the last chance she'll ever have when she turns 39. Nevertheless she is confident that top honors are firmly on the horizon. If we play our best or even really well, I believe we can get that gold medal Ross said via NBC Boston. Also, I am going to play a bit of lucky. Ross born in 1982, and grew up within Costa Mesa California with her sisters and parents, was the first to begin participating in sports at the Newport Harbor High school. Ross participated in various sports during her time at Newport Harbor High School. As a prep-athlete, she also played indoor volleyball and track. She was evidently the best at the sport of indoor volleyball. At the time of her high school volleyball season, according to her college profile, she played the roles of middle blocker, outside settingter, and hitter. The award was presented to her as one of the Gatorade National Circle of Champions player of the year in 1999 for her achievements. In 2000, she won her the Orange County Athlete of the Year award in volleyball. Ross Klineman joined her collaboration in the year 2017, however, Ross had been a major athlete on the beach for a long time before. In reality, she was the winner of numerous major events with two partners. One of which is an icon of volleyball. Her partnership was with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and she also served as the Klineman's assistant and Kessy's coach. Kessy and Ross were a formidable force in the world circuit, winning an overall world title in 2009. In 2012, the pair received silver at the Olympic Games. They were eliminated for the gold by the storied team comprising Misty and Kerri Walsh (Jennings). Ross Walsh was Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. They went on to win the bronze medal in beach volleyball in the Rio Olympics in the year 2016. Ross played in the NCAA tournament at USC Trojans prior to beginning making the jump to professional. The Trojans were in high school as well as in the years before going to the beach for professional. The time she spent at the school was a memorable one. While a freshman in the year 2000 she earned Pac-10 and NCAA The Freshman of the Year accolades. She also was an All-American. Her Trojans also reached the Final Four. In her sophomore year, she went through a heartbreaking personal setback, but she was able to win an All-American. For her two final years, she took the Trojans to the top of the mountain and won consecutive national titles. Ross was an excellent volleyball player, winning the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the college's top female volleyball player. Ross was a student of internationally-related studies at USC. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, never had the chance to watch her daughter become an international beach volleyball star. When Ross was in her sophomore year on the campus of USC her mother passed away due to breast cancer. She is deeply in love with the memory of her parent. Margie remains a constant source of inspiration to her in and out of the water.
