
Jessica Michelle Chastain was born on March 24, 1977. She is an American actress, producer, and model. Her films that focus on feminist themes are her mainstay. She has received numerous awards including an Academy Award as well as an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award. Time magazine listed her as one of the 100 most influential individuals worldwide in 2012. Chastain started acting from a young age. In 1998 she made her debut on stage as Shakespeare's Juliet. She was a student at the Juilliard School and was then hired to a talent-holding contract with John Wells, a television producer. She was a recurring guest in a variety of television seriesand was also cast in parts in various stage productions. Chastain made her debut film in Jolene (2008) aged 31. The actress went on to release six films in the year of 2011 including The Tree of Life (2011) and Take Shelter (2011). Chastain was also nominated for Academy Award nominations as a part of The Help (2011), in which she played an aspirational socialite, as well as Zero Dark Thirty (2012) as an CIA analyst. Commercial success was greater with the science fiction films Interstellar (2014) and The Martian (2015), as well as the horror film It Chapter Two (2019). Chastain's strong-willed performances in dramas A Most Valuable Year (2014), Miss Sloane (2016), Molly's Game (2017) and Scenes from a Marriage (2021) were also highly acclaimed. She went on to portray Tammy Faye Bakker in the biopic The Eyes of Tammy Faye (2021) with the Academy Award for Best Actress, and Tammy Wynette in the miniseries George & Tammy (2022). Chastain has founded Freckle Films to promote diversity in film production. She is also an investor in Angel City FC. She has a strong voice on race and gender equality. Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo is her husband.
